Blogs and Articles
Last updated:
This is a (not necessarily complete) list of the blogs and sites that I follow and read regularly. At the bottom of this page, you'll also find a list of individual articles that I think are exceptionally interesting and/or informative.
I will list RSS/atom feeds where known, because RSS is an underrated format and one of the few remaining vestiges of an enshittified internet.
I highly recommend seeking out RSS/atom feeds where ever you can find them. In most cases they save you from a lot of the trackers and privacy eroding widgets that you don't realize you are running into when you are just trying to read an article.
I use Miniflux as a feed reader. You can either selfhost it, or pay the developer $15 per year to not care about the tech stuff (extremely well deserved BTW).
To find the feed for a site that doesn't link out to one, you can use RSS finder, or the feed search python module. To create a feed for a site that doesn't have one, you can use RSS everything.
Disclaimer
Because it unfortunately requires saying in this day and age, treat this as an ongoing list of third-parties. I don't vouge for the things that other people write. I don't always agree with them, in fact I disagree with a lot of the things that I read, and I think that's a good thing.
In short, don't get mad at me because you clicked on something and you didn't like what you saw there.
