Consulting
I work with teams solving hard problems at the intersection of accessibility and technology. I care a lot about pushing the frontier of what is possible, especially if the outcome results in increased independence for people.
If you are working on something interesting or know someone who is, I want to hear about it.
What I Do
Accessibility Auditing
Comprehensive evaluations of web/mobile apps, sites, and documents against WCAG 2.1/2.2 guidelines to help organizations of all sizes meet section 508, ADA, AODA, and EAA regulations.
My approach blends a custom-built automated workflow with manual conformance testing that utilizes all industry-standard assistive technology (the stuff that I personally rely on every day, or that I've mastered and routinely show others how to use).
Then, I fix each and every issue or help you do it yourself. Most standard audits surface a large number of defects, eat through your budget, and then leave you holding the bag without a clear and actionable plan. This is not only a waste of your time, I think it's disingenuous and fundamentally wrong. Ultimately, your users don't care about your audits, they care about what you've done in response to them.
Finally, I supply all the documentation you need to demonstrate your level of compliance.
AI & Accessibility Transformation
AI is reshaping how we build, test, and interact with digital content. I'm deeply embedded in this intersection. From building AI-powered tools for screen reader users to regularly advising on AI-driven remediation at scale, I help organizations understand where AI can genuinely move the needle on accessibility.
If this is something you're working toward, I want to share tried and tested workflows that will help you do it responsibly and effectively from day one. Stop spinning your wheels. Build off of what is already saving testers and developers hours every week.
Consulting & Strategy
From remediation roadmaps to org-wide programs, I help teams figure out where they are, where they need to be, and how to get there without burning everything down. I've worked with hundreds of companies and seen the same patterns play out consistently.
Whether you represent an individual building something neat, a startup figuring it out for the first time, or a regulated Fortune 500, understanding the landscape and how it relates to your business is crucial.
Training & Workshops
I run training sessions for developers, designers, QA teams, and content creators at companies of all sizes (from small teams shipping their first release to enterprise organizations with hundreds of engineers).
Most accessibility problems aren't caused by people who don't care, but people who were never taught what to look for. My primary objective is to build the muscle memory that prevents barriers from being created in the first place.
Every session is tailored to the audience and their specific needs. Topics I've covered include:
- Digital accessibility fundamentals
- Policy and legislation (CA, US, and EU)
- Making the business case for accessibility
- GenAI in accessibility
- How people with disabilities use the web
- Assistive technology usage
- Digital procurement
- Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA)
- Social media accessibility
- Web development (including framework-specific considerations)
- Mobile development (including considerations for iOS and/or Android)
- Document accessibility (PDF, Word, PowerPoint)
- Accessibility across the SDLC (including a role-by-role responsibilities breakdown)
I don't believe sessions are effective without takeaways. Every training includes a recording that can be uploaded to your LMS of choice, plus a checklist or one-pager summarizing the material for reference after the fact.
